RELIGIOUS, DIOCESAN SEMINARIANS MEET IN BULACAN

GUIGUINTO, BULACAN –The religious seminarians studying at Recoletos School of Theology (RST) and the diocesan seminarians residing in Immaculate Conception Major Seminary (ICMAS) met in the diocese of Malolos, Bulacan for their 6th Communio gathering last September 16-17, 2005.

The overnight gathering was held in three different places which began in the morning of September 16, 2005 at Saint Augustine Parish, Baliuag, Bulacan. Msgr. Sabino Vengco, Jr., STD, opened the two-day event with his talk on the theme “The Eucharist as Source and Summit of Priestly Ministry,” patterned after the topic of the Synod of Bishops to be held in Rome this coming October 2005.

A short tour around the stone church and museum of Baliuag Parish was scheduled after lunch before the delegates proceeded to 8 Waves Waterpark in the San Rafael, Bulacan for the team building activities. Four teams were formed named after four colors, namely, red team, green team, blue team and white team which eventually became the groupings of the said gathering.

At 5:00 P.M., the delegates again moved on to Guiguinto, Bulacan where the Immaculate Conception Major Seminary was located for the final leg of their Communio itinerary. There, the remaining activities slated for the first day were held, like the lucernarium and the family night. The concelebrated Eucharistic celebration presided by Msgr. Andres Valera, Jr., vicar-general of Malolos diocese and rector of ICMAS, culminated the Communio 2005 gathering last September 17, 2005.

Communio is a gathering of theology seminarians studying at Recoletos School of Theology and Immaculate Conception Major Seminary which aims to foster the spirit of collaboration and unity among diocesan and religious seminarians as future ministers and servants of the Church. It started in 2002 and was born through the initiative of Fr. Emmanuel Cruz, dean of studies of ICMAS and Fr. Jorge Peligro, OAR, dean of studies of RST.
