VIGAN, ILOCUS SUR - At around 8:00 we traced our tracks back to St. William the Hermit Cathedral,San Fernando La, Union. After our morning prayers, we loaded the image of St. Ezekiel Moreno and started off further north.

The pilgrims reached Santiago, Ilocos Sur 11:00 a.m. We were welcomed for lunch at Marina’s Resort Club through Mrs. Grace Singson. Delectable native cuisines were served. Not only were our stomachs filled but our eyes were fed as well. Overlooking the resort is the captivating view of Ilocos’s pristine beaches surrounded by hulking mountains as if embracing the beauty within.
Thirty minutes after twelve, we left the resort and traveled for Vigan. Along the way the caravan had a short stop in front of the architectural wonder of the Quirino bridge (Santa and Bantay boundary) for photo-ops.
One of the cars broke down forcing a stop at Royal Bibingka, where we had a taste of Ilocos’s finest rice cakes. After the tire change we dropped by at Northeast Car Care Centre to buy spare tires and eventually to have all cars change oil. Finally, we left the place by 4:30 p.m.
We were billeted at Villa Angela, Vigan, Ilocos Sur. Mrs. Marjo Gasser welcomed us inside their ancestral house turned inn. The house which is one of the historical landmarks of Vigan dates back from the year 1878. Originally owned by the Florendos’, it has been passed down from generation to generation and is now taken cared by the 7th generation.
Since it was the Lord’s Day, we attended the 5:00 p.m. mass at St.Paul Cathedral. Afterwhich, we met with Msgr. Ted Mercado and had a short tour inside the newly opened museum which houses the rich history of that church.
We grabbed the opportunity to stroll along the cobbled-stone streets of Vigan. Then, we went back to Villa Angela where dinner was waiting. Before we called the night off, some took a brisk walk around the house which in itself rich in history.
