Brief History
Museo Recoleto gathers and preserves principally the relics and memorabilia of the Augustinian Recollects (or Recoletos) in the Philippines. It grew from a collection of mostly religious objects received from the houses, convents, churches, and areas served by the Recollects in the country. It was officially inaugurated on December 5, 1988, in the wake of the IV Centenary celebration of the Birth of the Augustinian Recollection (1588-1988). It was finally housed in its new and more spacious site at Bulwagang Recoletos, located at Mira-nila Homes, Tandang Sora Avenue, Quezon City, on February 6, 1994.
